All of One and Half the Other by Fred L. Taulbee Jr.

All of One and Half the Other
by Fred L. Taulbee Jr.

You surprise me looking up from my underwear drawer
Where I have to hide your framed pictures from the wall
When my family or friends come over

I don’t mind you down in all of my boxers
I’d rather have you up here in my arms
And up on my wall permanently

I’m living two lives one with one without you
The one with you is an intricate fantasy
The one without you is reality

And one day this is all going to mess me up inside
If it hasn’t already, I’m worried for my mind
And only you can fix me

But I’m worried for my heart and soul too
You have all of one
And you’re half the other
